Embrace the gift

18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they
shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; 20 but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." For the mouth of the LORD has spoken. – Isaiah 1:18-20
Christ has provided the most incredible gift; He offers the complete forgiveness of our sins. He provides a way for us to be completely clean again - hallelujah. The 18th verse of Isaiah 1 is a beautiful description of this truth. However, continuing our reading into verses 19 and 20, we are reminded of the fact that we must accept this gift. We must cooperate with this act of Christ and not resist it in word or in deed. Willing obedience is a characteristic of one who sincerely appreciates this gift and has truly accepted it. Let’s never take for granted what Christ so freely has done for us. Let’s embrace it with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength. Let’s live as those who have been washed clean; who are white as the snow; who are like pure wool.
