I would be LOST

I am not a big television watcher – especially not network TV stuff. However, over the past week, I have watched a few of the first episodes of LOST via the internet. As a guy, my mind races with thoughts of survival techniques and how I would handle the situation of being stranded on an island. One of the first things I would do is take inventory. I began to think about what would be essential. I must tell you that I started to panic when I thought of the possibility of a Bible not being among the inventory. There are a lot of things I could do without, but to spend years – not to mention the rest of my life – without the Word of God would be catastrophic.

Three lessons to consider: (1) never fly Oceanic Airlines - the airline that crashed in the first episode of LOST stranding people on an island, (2) never leave home without God’s Word, and (3) spend time in the Bible daily because we are, in fact, stranded on an island called “this world” where we are strangers and God’s Word is our most important survival tool - the source of life, strength, and sustenance.
