We can't have it both ways

I am continuing to teach through the book of 1 John. Again, the Apostle John very clearly points out that it is one or the other – not both. We either live for God or we live for this world. It is either the kingdom of God or the kingdom of this world. NO DUEL CITIZENSHIP.

If we live for the world by embracing its ways, then we will pass away just like the world will pass away. But, if we live for God and embrace His ways, then we will live with Him forever.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. - 1 John 2:15-17
