Desperate for the Righteousness of Christ

The righteousness of Christ isn’t something we just wear like a mask. Rather, it is who we must become. His righteousness must be allowed to fill us to the full; to take us over. So that, we begin to become righteous as He is righteous - "Be Holy as He is Holy". So that we think like Jesus and act like Jesus. That is the real transformation that happens to those who are in Christ, who are meek, who are led by the Spirit and not by the flesh.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. – Matthew 5:6

This is exactly what the Lord has been telling me lately...been experiencing a weird form of persecution that comes from people who say they are Christians, but who say I need to be less meek and more worldly, that I don't need to be all "holy-roller" all the time, with my nose glued to the Bible. It really throws me off when this comes from people who say they are Christian but who don't believe in God's sanctification on a person, but view it all as self righteousness, even if it is said over and over again that any good change is from Christ and Holy Spirit, this is so confusing and discouraging...but probably an attack from the enemy... ???

May I quote some or all of this post you wrote, especially the first few sentences? It really is a good blurb about the righteousness of Christ...I will send you a copy before I submit it. It might take a few days...
Thanks!
In Him,
Becky
